  1. I've been struggling to come up with a good way of collecting Brum-webbery-esque events together — it's so easy to create a blog or a FB group for each individual strand that some really interesting stuff gets missed because information is splintered and then disseminated across ambient networks (twitter especially).

So, without a better idea (or having to do it physically myself), the best way I can come up with is to use the ;Brum Bloggers Upcoming Group — to which anyone can join and add an event. You can add events created by others to the group - I'm thinking Multipack, Hackspace (now FizzPop) or anything really.

You can then subscribe to the feed, direct to your calendar if you so wish (how to do this).

To try an broaden it out I've changed the name of the group to "Paradise Circus"

  2. Would you like a version of Live Brum for webbery-esque events? We've begun to discuss this a couple of times but, erm, that last email seems to have been a dead end.

I'm happy to put this together as I now have code for a 'single genre version' of Live Brum pretty much sorted (i.e. Art Brum). Re-purposing this for web/social/digital/other would be super-quick and has the added advantage of feeding data into other appropriate Brum sites such as allbrum.co.uk (which I'm not really talking about yet but does sort of exist), digbeth.albrum.co.uk, etc, etc.

You also get calendar files, microformats, rss feeds and other goodies 'free' as they are all baked into the code.

Permission to add/edit data could be given to anyone that wanted it and, if it made it more appealing, I'd be happy to brand it as a Paradise Circus thing.

Basically, if someone else is up for the modest amount of data entry required to keep it up-to-date then I am happy to make it happen.
